  • Looking for a synth that can...

Give me some reggae/dub like bass sound. A sound similar to a muted P-bass. I have some synths that get me close to it, but not exact. I was planning on running in through a bass amp sim and adding a sine sub.
    A soundfont would also work.

    Thanks!

I haven't tried it, but doesn't Spectrasonics' Trilian handle stuff like this? All sorts of bass.

I've never gotten around to checking that one out. I'm looking into 4front bass module right now.

        Trillian

        It's the best imo.

Try massive, it's got tons of ways to modify the sound. A lot of dub step folks use it. It links up with ableton quite nice.

I use TAL Bassline, because for some reason the 4Front bass is out of tune by about one and a half semitones in Reaper for me and cannot be tuned, because it can not be fixed by transposition in MIDI. TAL Bassline is great though, and free.

Lots of good suggestions...if you know how to program synths you can probably get the sound you're looking for out of pretty much any soft synth, though just off the top of my head some that come with good presets for it are those listed above, along with LennarDigital Sylenth1, all the Rob Papen synths (especially SubBoomBass), Synapse Dune, MOTU MX4, and the u-he synths, particularly ACE and Zebra, Tone2 Gladiator, and FabFilter Twin

                    I 4th Trillian. It's the most superior bass plug-in.
