  • Bass plugin - (DI straight into the DAW)

So, I use this trace elliot head when I'm looking for some standard bass sounds (DI off the head) But now it has started to make buzzing noises I can't track down. At this point, I'm wondering about DIing the bass right into my interface and using plugins to take the place of everything in the head.

    What's good? Not crazy spendy.

Oh man, there's TONS of options out there, and everyone has their preferences...Aplitube SVX Ampeg, Mark Studios One Bass, Softube Bass Room, WAVES V7 has a ton of bass plug ins, (Amplitube 3 also has many bass presets/amps etc. etc.)...however you may be able to get the sound you want simply with the compressors, EQs, and other FX in you DAW...good luck.

You're talking under audio effects right? The amp folder is empty on mine....

There's a bunch of native midi instruments I've used but I want real bass on this one.

in LIVE8 - under Audio Effects - open Audio Effect Rack - Bass Amp - there are 12 different sims to play with there

I usually end up putting the Sansamp pre on bass. That, with your choice of compressor, and eq(if necessary).

I often use either this: http://www.theserinaexperiment.net/f...c.php?f=9&t=68

                Or this http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/amplitubecs/

Amplitube comes free with a few guitar amps and a bass amp. You can pay for and download more if you like.

Sometimes I run the bass through one of the guitar amps and blend it back in with the main bass sound.
                Null.
