  • Please critique my recording

I'm so new at recording, but I'm making progress, hopefully. I just want to know what I need to work on next.

    She Was A Real Good
Recorded on PreSonus Firebox, one 58 mic and one direct line, panned right and left.

My vocals are, sadly, recorded on a 58, but I don't have the budget for a new mic right now.

In terms of a mix, what do I need to work on next? My main purpose in these mixes is to send them to a publisher to review before he decides which songs to have book session musicians to demo. I don't need it perfect, but the better it sounds, well, the better!

    Thanks!

    Hey,

My first thought is that, it doesn't sound like these are panned at all. It sounds like its panned slightly to the left.

It could be phase issues. I dunno, but you might want to fix that.

I'll check, but I'm almost positive I panned left and right. Hmm...
