  • one mic for acoustic and vocals

I've been trying this very simple setup and I'm pretty excited! it solves a lot of issuses and can sound stellar. If you were going to choose one mic to use for a setup like this what kind would it be? Dynamic, Ribbon or Condensor (large or small diaphram)? I make a kind of acoustic music that is more of the "vintage" flavor. The mic I've been experimenting with is the V69, and the tone is wonderful but unfortunately it's far too noisy / hissy of a mic for me to work with seriously for an album. I'm all set with preamps, and pres that can handle a ribbon's needs too.

I think an LDC would be the best choice for something like that. As to which one, there are a million ways to go.
