  • Passive DI boxes and phantom power?

    Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy the Tascam US-1641 audio interface, and I'm pretty sure it has global phantom power on its eight XLR inputs.

If this is the case, what will happen if I plug in a passive DI box (ART dPDB) and turn the phantom power on? Will it fry the box and the guitars/basses plugged into it? What are some workarounds to this?

    Thanks!

Phantom power will not damage a passive DI.
    My VCAs go to 11
