  • About to order a new Audio Interface... can't decide

I'm trying to decide between the Roland Octa-Capture and a Motu 828 Mk III.

Both seem to fit all I need in different ways and the budget is just right.

    So, any ideas?

        Update:

Well, the Roland Octa Capture and the MOTU 4Pre arrived yesterday and I managed to get the Roland installed last night. So far, I like it plenty. The preamps sound really good with my microphone test (Sennheiser E945) and I was able to wind it up pretty nicely with some clarity. I've not delved into any of the on-board stuff yet, but driver installation was seemless and very simple. The UI seems pretty good too.

I've yet to install the 4Pre and the 828 hasn't shown up yet - odd as I had ordered this one first.

I'm going to be doing the bulk of my experimentation this weekend. I'm intending on using my Art Voice Channel to record some vocals with my Shure SM7B and also my dual-amp mic up with the SM57 and MD421.

My DAW of choice so far is Cubase 6.5 Professional (Edu). I may kick up Sonar LE at some point.

I will be monitoring this thread. I have been eyeing the Quad Capture, so I hope that it might be as good as its big brother.
