  • Yamaha W24 - MP3 files showing file sizes but have NO SOUND

I'd sure appreciate any thoughts on this any detechtives out there.

I have a Yamaha W24 with the latest firmware update (1.03Y).

I found a group of 11 recorded MP3 files that have no sound. I can't hear them on my computer or the recorder.  File sizes range from 286kb to 8.5mb.

Could it be from a low battery at the time? IOW, with a low battery, can it show that it's recording and not lay it down?

Scary - I use this recorder to store song and arrangement  ideas.

    Thanks,

    Rick

if you recorded those MP3 with the yamaha W24

but they do not sound on any playback device

then you may recorded those MP3 with a zero recording level

that would be my first guess

Can you open them up in an editing program?

If so, are there visible waveforms?

      Try this and report back.
