In light of a recent memorial thread and to mark the passage of the time, I'm dusting off this old forum song co-written by RecordingTrack1 and me a whole bunch of years ago when things were somewhat livelier here and bonds were inspirational. They still are despite the onset of curmudgeonliness. Corny, a bit gooey but otherwise fermented in good intentions. I'm lead vocal and acoustic guitar. RT1 did everything else including the final mix down.

RIP, TAH, and wishes for good things to all others named who are long gone from here.

Hi there ,here`s another Beatles tune ,Norwegian Wood .I played this on my Eko, with a capo on fret 2 regular tuning ,no finger picking on this one this was played entirely with a plectrum, I made the pick with a pick punch out of an ice cream carton Vanilla flavour probably. The pick had kind of worn out by the end of the recording . thanks hope you like it.

Woooops! Nearly forgot about VOM LOL.

Here is one of mine:

The Gypsy's Wife" by Leonard Cohen

Played on my deep-bowl Ovation-alike strung with hard tension nylon strings. One take with computer mic and Audacity.

Let's hear one of your's.

Hi Howard, great tune .

Fantastic version of this song, cats. I think this might just be one of my favorite Beatles songs. I have an instrumental version but tend to like real songs like yours. Kudos on the plectrum creativity. I think I might have done something similar in the way way back with a matchbook cover. No pick punches in those meager days. Again, great rendition.

Great song, Howard. I see what you're using but it sounds like a resonator to me, nylons strings or not. It almost sounds like it's been adjusted to fret-out a bit.

BTW: I turned vegan going on three weeks now. Must say better late than never.

garthman - Well done. Great take on a classic Cohen tune.

Idunno - That brings back memories. Thanks for posting it again.

catscurlyear - Very nice. Well played and sung. Hard to go wrong with the Beatles.

Freeman Keller - Well played. Much better than I can do.

extollo - That was very well done. Never been a huge Bowie fan but you more than did it justice.

sister painted it from a color photo taken in the early 60s or sooner. for reverb, I put the audio in reaper & applied a waves trueverb plate. I picked up trueverb during one of waves' giveaways. then glued it back together with movie maker.
