Indeed. And the older I become the more it happens.

 

And, as well as the relief of guitar noodling, a long walk in the hills and moorlands with just skylarks and lapwings for company - and perhaps a pair of buzzards soaring on the thermals high above (although I'm pleased they keep their distance) - often beats the sometimes tediousness of human company.

 

But hang on in there, Sam - an occasional dinner party with good food, wine and conversation with friends makes up for lots of bad times smiley-happy

Sometimes. Ideally I like to hang around other people who are passionate about similar interests but even still sometimes I have to consort with rude or demanding people. It's a wonder I can still speak after how many times I've bitten my tongue. Lately I've decided that life's too short to walk on eggshells for other people who place unfair expectations on others. The trick is not being mean about it; I've learned that I still have a bit of growing up to do.
