Young Jin? Yamaha? What do I have here?

The quality of the ??YAMAHA??? inlay is way below everything I have ever seen in regards to Yamaha Instruments. Even the cheapest of the cheapest had a better print/silk screen/inlay/whatever than that.

Saying that, there have been Young Jin Yamahas in the early 1960, but most of them had a way more elaborate headstock silk screen....

Is there something special about young jin? I have seen the one with the fancy headstocks you refer to. I won an auction for it, but haven't paid yet. It looks like a nice guitar, but Not looking to but some fake whatever it is. Then cost is not high $60, so maybe I should just take A risk.

I've asked yamaha, but their CS is piss poor, I don't expect to hear back.

Apply some basic detective work.

Google 'Young Jin guitar'. Here are a few useful examples of the results.

Young Jin guitars were made in South Korea, not China, and they were made in the early sixties. At that time, mainland China was not trading with the west at all.

The few examples of Young Jin guitars you find are not of excellent quality, but they are clearly better than that thing you pictured. That headstock logo is just too poor to be considered genuine anything.

What that thing is, is anyone's guess, but you can be pretty sure it's not a Young Jin guitar.
