Members 80sbuttrock
Seems that it would make sense for pull offs and bends since the strings are stiffer than electric?
Members Freeman Keller
Fret height is always a compromise. With their higher action and increased tension in the strings acoustics tend to go sharper as they are fretted - tall frets means that they will that much sharper - and will be even more difficult to pull the string down to the board (yes, I know that is not necessary but most do it). Most acoustic players don't bend more than a half step and few players do many pull offs (yes, I know that some do). Acoustics tend to run slightly more relief that electrics and slightly higher nut action. On an electric you can tolerate a little bit of buzzing as long as it doesn't change the pitch - on an acoustic you don't want any. For most of us medium height/width frets are what we prefer - I even put them on my electrics.
