Members mark theriac
It is the x series of Martins that I am concerned with. If you have one please fill me in.
Members Freeman Keller
I consider the D12X1 one of the good "bang for the bucks" 12 strings, however frankly it would not be my choice. I don't have experience with the others.
Members Idunno
I have an all black 00CXAE. I never thought I'd ever ask for a gnome's nod to HPL but let's say I'm all for sustainability at this point. It's got a decent stage presence with the Fishman onboards. Otherwise, for a very thin body I can't deny the unplugged volume and balance it has. This would be a perfect busking guitar with a battery powered amp. I bought it for bar gigging at a bygone venue and now I have little use for it.
Members acousticdepot
I have played some. I don't think they are a good value. They are on par with a yamaha fg but several hundred dollars more.
Members Etienne Rambert
I played a 12 and liked it. Sounded fine acoustically. Maybe I have odd taste in 12's though. I liked an old US-made Ovation Elite 12 too - a lot.

I never owned one but I recall a few times seeing one with a "java mahogany" mural glued to the back and sides and thought it would make a passable travel guitar. It certainly sounds fuller than those parlor sized guitars that were all the rage before the GS Mini came out. Yours has the blonde stratabond neck too, correct? Members masterbuilt
I played some that sounded pretty good. I prefer a bound body on a spruce top. I like the unbound hog bodies, though.

I prefer binding period. I can't get past the 15 series and below's lack of binding.
