Members Freeman Keller
Thanks, Q. We are having dinner Saturday with an old friend who I haven't seen much lately - he has just taken up playing the guitar and is totally excited about it. Sunday we are going to a house concert featuring this guy
Members DeepEnd
Thanks for sharing, guys. Much appreciated. Since bassist Charlie Haden just passed away, here's something from the Letterman Show (don't worry, it features acoustic guitar): [video=youtube;WbYYOoDlNZc]
Members Freeman Keller
A brief follow up - I have to say that the Bridger concert was one of the most incredible experiences that I've ever heard. Play the clip above and listen carefully (warning, its pretty long but its only a small part of the whole song). My friend, who hosted the show, grew up in the Austin music scene in the '70's and apparently knew Bridger pretty well. He invited him to visit Washington state and asked him to play for a few special friends. Bridger extensively studied the time of the opening of the West- the legends of the mountain men and Native Americans during the 1830's or so, and tells the story from both perspectives, He wrote this song 40 years ago and has been performing it ever since. When he finished I was covered in goose bumps, my eyes were moist and I felt like I had been run over by a herd of buffalos.
