Members skunky_funk
It appears that the OM and 000 normally have the same body size, however, the 000 has a 24.9" scale while the OM has a 25.4" scale. Assuming that an OM and a 000 have the very same construction except the scale, how would they differ from each other tonally? Think OM-28V vs 000-28. Members SpoonyJank
The 000-28 doesn't have scalloped bracing and the other one does. The OM is probably louder and probably has more bass and would most likely be a lot punchier. The 000 would be easier to play though. shorter scale means less string tension so you can fret and bend easier but less energy is transfered. I haven't played the OM-28v though so its just speculation.
Members 54merk
Yes, the scalloped braces are done to increase the bass response, however the shorter string length will reduce string tension, which should reduce the volume somewhat. You should be able to find a short scale 00028EC to play since they are fairly common. The shorter scales are really a lot of fun, very easy to bend, and less work, as long as you don't miss having access tothe 13th and 14th frets. Members Marcusthefish
The fretboard is wider on the OM models as well (1 3/4" vs 1 11/16"). I don't know how this would affect tone, if at all. MTF
