Members kwakatak
I've always loved the Hawaiian Wedding Song but I haven't heard it in years. Of the songs that I have discovered recently, there's a really beautiful song entitled "And I Love You So" by Don McLean. It was transcribed in the last issue of Fingerstyle Guitar magazine. Members touchstone001
Most beautiful acoustic number I think is Cello Song by Nick Drake. If you don't have access to a Cello player, I'd suggest Marietta by Francesco Tarrega.

Members Carle
My list is long, here are some. Autumn Leaves Scarborough Fair Morning Has Risen These are tunes that are best when sung and played. The words to these three tunes are emotional, especially Autumn Leaves. Members bullpencoach
One of favorite fingerstyle songs is Paul SImon's "Kathy's Song." For good ol' steel string strumming, Neil Young is always a good bet. "Thrasher" (he does it on 12 string) is great, as is anything from Harvest or Harvest Moon. Members likkafella
There are many, but "I'm so lonesome I could cry" has to be one of the most beautiful.
Members desaljs
I would say Pat Metheny's "Travels" and "Farmers Trust" are very nice. He has done these in both acoustic and electric versions, and both ways are very moving.

I remember learning "Long Boats" thirty years ago simply to impress a young lady who said it was her favorite song. Didn't work. That said, and I don't want to offed you Trei, but I have a pet peeve about "Morning Has Broken" being attributed to the Cat simply because he recorded a popular version. "Morning" has been a prized Christian hymn for at least 50 years. The tune sung by Stevens is "Bunessan", a traditional Gaelic melody. The words were penned by Eleanor Farjeon in 1931. And you're right, it is gorgeous. The Preacher

I'm also a big fan of Mark Knopfler but have lost track of what he's been up to. Of his work with Dire Straits I love but could never hope to play: "Romeo and Juliet" "Telepgraph Road" "Private Investigations" "Why Worry" "The Man's Too Strong" Since I'm kind of breaking away from straight acoustic music I would also venture to praise "People Get Ready" by Jeff Beck/Rod Stewart. That song is what really inspired me to play when it first came out! It still gives me goosbumps!
