Members gitnoob
If your saddle fell out during a string change, you'd probably benefit from a new saddle that properly fits.

Members mrheaume
Thanks guys. I put on a set of light daddarios. They are brass. They make a ton of noise when I play barre chords and move them around. I have until tues night, which is the night of the gig. What can I do to make these strings less noisy? Rub something onthem? Thank u

Members katopp
Get coated strings. Exilir Polys are the quietest strings I've played so far. But they feel soapy. I prefer EXP's - still coated but not as bad as Elixirs.

Members mrheaume
The show is in 24 hrs. Buy new strings doesn't really help me for the show. How about rubbing a clean dark towel on the strings?

Members mrheaume
Saddle unknowledge, string unknowledge and a pending gig. I never was good at math. Sounds crazy I know, but talent matters more than knowledge of types of guitar strings
Members FretFiend.
Basic math lesson: 1 / knowledge = unknowledge.
Members Opa John
Advanced (somewhat) math: Tons of talent + Scheduled gigs + No extra strings = Weak Area. Solution......change your name to "No-Show Jones" and stay home.
Members garthman
Noisy strings are good - the crowd will hear them better - but if you don't like them put the old set back on.
Members FretFiend.
Yes. What kind of strings did you have before that weren't noisy??? Put them on.

Members FretFiend.
Tons of talent Scheduled gigs. + No extra strings. Doesn't know which strings are quietest. No other strings available within 50 miles (in the US.) = Divide by zero error. Effects regular. I would've figured Amps.
Members Grant Harding
Brass is pretty bright. Try coated or PB, or eat a whole bowl of kettle potato chips with your left hand and then play for a couple of hours. This happens to my guitars at parties and it takes the zing right off. Good luck. Don't forget to bring a tuner and a cable.
