Black's move.

Given AG's current "woes", I think we have to minimize our "character input" in order to help things speed along. And what better way than a good old game of chess.

If you wanna keep it on-tee instead, you could blurt out favorite chords or whatever. Go crazy, I say. This forum is for all kinds of people.....except for those who play backgammon. You guys can stay away. Oh, and accordian players too. And flutists.

Whaaat ?

I have to assume you're joking since katopp's "E5" is the standard response to the OP's opening chess move of "E4".

Joshua: Shall we play a game?
David Lightman: Oh!
Jennifer: [giggles] I think it missed him.
David Lightman: Yeah. Weird isn't it?
Jennifer: Yeah.
David Lightman: [typing] Love to. How about Global Thermonuclear War?
Joshua: Wouldn't you prefer a nice game of chess?
[Jennifer laughs]
David Lightman: [typing] Later. Let's play Global Thermonuclear War.
Joshua: Fine.

It was meant to be that way, hopefully with lots of people participating in "small amounts" so as to not slow up the "system". Anyone can offer the next move, long as it's "viable"......

Thanks Ed. I have at least a couple of "theories":

AG members aren't into "board" games, judging by the overall "turnout" in recent times.

Or maybe not everyone is into "chords"?

And 'Keltik'guitarists can go back to their lower middle class drawing rooms and play simplified quasi classical renditions of Gaelic harp and dance tunes to their amateur dramatics society friends and dream of belonging to an authentic culture that they have done their best to erase.

Could be the site's annoying performance also I guess ...
