Members DeepEnd
I want to buy a decent capo for a friend who uses the old elastic style and doesn't get it tight enough. The Planet Waves NS Lite is fairly cheap on Amazon and eBay but I have a question: Can you move it from one fret to another without loosening and retightening the thumb screw? That's one of the things I like about my Shubb but those run twice what the Planet Waves does and a Shubb wouldn't work on his Norman anyway due to the very shallow neck profile. Members FretFiend.
I have a couple of Planet Waves NS capos. In answer to your question, no, you can't move it from one fret to another without loosening and retightening the thumb screw. Don't let that scare you tho. You can put it on or take it off one-handed, and you can dial in just the right tension to avoid pulling strings sharp too. I have to do that with the Shubb anyway. I've not seen a guitar neck that the NS won't work on. BTW, I think Shubb makes a couple of different models, and one of them is for thin neck guitars.
