I just picked up an Alvarez RD16CE. It's the same model as in my avatar. It seems like a good, basic dread with onboard pickup. I just happened to try one out since my Masterbilt is in the shop. Felt at home right away - nice neck, good action, sounded fine. And I got it for $199 new. Musicians Friend has it for $239. I'll post a photo as soon as I figure out this phone camera.

Congrats! How are you liking it?

    Pics or death.

I guess I kinda lost control, because in the middle of the play I ran up and lit the evil puppet villain on fire. No, I didn't. Just kidding. I just said that to help illustrate one of the human emotions, which is freaking out. Another emotion is greed, as when you kill someone for money, or something like that. Another emotion is generosity, as when you pay someone double what he paid for his stupid puppet.I.K.F.C.E.S.C.Potato SocietySAWG

My immediate impression is that this is a whole lot of guitar for $199. The neck and action are very nice and the sound (at least on this guitar) is nice and full. Many guitars I've played with a cutaway and on board pickup sounded a bit thin to me. Not this one.

I'll see about getting pics up today. I'll try loading pics from my phone. Honestly, I've reached the point in life where technology has passed me by. I have a new droid - my first "smart phone". I long for the days when phones were simply for making calls. This thing is a royal pain.
