I'd love to see the Acoustic/Baritone guitar used for those parts that had super sour notes. It gives you the impression of a guitar with a warped up neck and holes worn through the body with actual cat gut strings. Like Willie Nelsons guitar except being played by a local Italian saloon guitarist. Tilting a combo amp with a foot to make the reverb bang around with the music box chimes is a nice touch too.

The music was as low budget as the film. They used the 50's technique of using voices to substitute for the horn parts so they didn't have to pay all the money for the musicians.

Supposedly a guy named Pino Rucher played that part and never received full credit and his daughter is suing for 800K Euros. Seems like there are 3 others who claim to have played the part. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/may/10/ennio-morricone-sued-guitarist-daughter

Bruno Battisti D'Amario, Alessandro Alessandroni, Enrico Ciacci. were the other guitarists.

They have a video of them talking about it but you'd need to speak Italian to understand it.
