Members Pine Apple Slim Posted May 28, 2018 Members Share Posted May 28, 2018 To help out somebody unloading some gear for medical expenses I picked up a set of these at a fair price.I need help in deciding wth to do with them. I don’t currently own a P90 equipped guitar.My cantidates are:1. Epiphone Broadway, big ol jazz style hollowbody with stock HB, right now sporting flatwounds.2. Epiphone Explorer, blonde, with stock HBs.3. HH Strat guard I could put in my mongerel Strat, Squire hardtail w Allparts neck. Right now it has SSS Chinese Alnico 5s in it. But I just picked up a little SSS Affinity so I wouldn’t be giving up the trad Strat SSS Sound.4. 1980 Carvin DC 100. All maple double cut w ebony board, original Carvin 22 pole HBs in it.The Strat would be the easy way to go, but there’s good potential in the other options.what would you do? Members badpenguin Posted May 28, 2018 Members Share Posted May 28, 2018 Personally, I would put the Roses into the Carvin IF it was the simple volume/tone configuration. Some of them had the phase switch, and two single coil switches. I would also add a push/pull series/parallel switch in it as well, to have the bucker sound when needed. Just my 2 pennies worth.
