Members ricketydog
I don't know what the speakers sound like, but I wanted to share a little-bit about the cabinet. It's poplar ply-wood all the way through. It's a bit lighter than birch which I can appreciate very much. With the speakers in, it might be about 50 lbs, which is 22 lbs lighter than my 2x12 combo. I thought I'd add some pictures for you all to see what the components and interior look like so you can get a feel for the build quality. For $300 loaded with 2 60 watt speakers, it's a really good deal. Yes I replaced the speakers, and no, I didn't even hook up the cabinet with the stock speaker in it. I regret that a bit now, but I immediately rewired the cab for 2 16 ohm speakers vs the 2 8 ohm speakers that were in it. I had a gig the next day and needed to get ahead of the game if I wanted it completed. So I apologize for not being able to give you any idea about how it sounds in it's stock condition. Anyway I wanted to at least show you the build quality and construction and if you're looking for a vertical slant cabinet this would be one to consider. Members DeepEnd
Happy New Cab Day. The stock speakers were EHX branded, probably made by Eminence. Glad you like it with the Celestions in it.
Members ricketydog
I appreciate the heads up on the speakers potentially being made by Eminence. I think I miss quoted the ratings. They are only 30 watts each. Large dust cap covers much like The Eminence Lady Lucks that I've got stuffed in a box somewhere, so you may be onto something there. The magnets are much smaller though. I may throw one in an extension cab single just to see how they sound...Be well and play hard!
Members DeepEnd
To be honest I played the odds but Eminence makes speakers for a lot of companies like Fender under their names. Here's a list of manufacturer codes if you want to check: https://www.tedweber.com/speaker-codes-application/. Let us know what you find out.
