I like variety. If I had to pick one guitar to play with for the rest of my life, it would be my Epiphone Les Paul Custom. I had a 1976 Gibson L6-S, a 2005 Gibson SG, and played many other Gibsons. This is the winner for me.

Lately, I am playing my Mustang a lot, though. Ever since I performed the hardtail mod, it just filled my need for a more spanky, twangy Fender sound.

Amp wise, I use my Vox AC4 most of the time. For recording, I have my Digitech RP-150 processor. I want to upgrade to the RP360 at some point.

I have 11 guitars that I rotate pretty equally, I don't stay on one guitar for more than 2-3 weeks. Right now I'm back to playing an SX Strat I got a few months ago.

During Hurricane Harvey I was only out of power for 24 hrs., but I decided to dust off my Zoom G2Nu because it's the only multi-effects pedal I have that can run on batteries, and I've been digging that for about a week now.

My main and only electric is a Schecter Gryphon. My main amp is a Roland Cube 80XL, largely because I'm mainly an acoustic guy so a large investment in an amp doesn't make a lot of sense. My main acoustic is an Ibanez AW120. Sure, nicer gear would be cool but neither my budget nor my level of talent can justify it.

#1 Guitar - BC Rich Beast in my signature. It fits everything perfectly, except playing sitting down, lol. 25.5", 24 fret, EMGs 18v mod + PA2, Floyd Rose, excellent neck. For what I play, it just fits. I've had it since 02, and it definitely shows the mileage, lol.

#1 Amp - Peavey 6505 with Celestion loaded Randall semi-straight 4x12. No amp, IMO, is as Brutal as the 6505. Sure, some are more expensive, have more channels, independent EQs, level knob on the FX Loop, but nothing sounds like a 6505.

#1 effect - that's a toss up between the Sonic Stomp and the Whammy. The Sonic Stomp brings all the levels together, and the Whammy is just awesome!

No, never had the midi controller. Might pick one up. I'm using the Whammy IV right now, I like the effects better than the V, and the Wet Added/Dry Out outputs are pretty killer. But! The five is cool in its own right, traded mine off recently for a Multi-effects and midi controller. The V has a few more settings, is polyphonic, and has a Vintage/Chords switch. The one I'd really like is the combo pedal with the Whammy and Whammy DT. I'd have to buy a new pedalboard to fit it though. But yeah, I can't imagine playing without one in the chain, they're just So Versatile!

FWIW, I've got two electrics - very different. The LP clone suits most of my needs, the archtop challenges me to be a better player. My one and only amp (actually not true, I have one in the shop for testing stuff) is the 6/12 watt British kit behind in a home made box

I have several favorite acoustics and I've posted lots of pictures of them so I won't bore you. I tend to go to the 000-28, 00-17 or 0-42 clones, but I play the ladder braced 12 string and the koa tri cone and the weissie and........

altough i really love freeman's 335, those two strats below get the most playtime. the green one at home for exercising, the natural one at rehearsals

amp(s) is pretty stable since i use this setup, a sovtek midget50h and 2x12 in stereo with a BYOC Tweed royal 1x12 combo

Right now it's a toss-up between a twenty-five year old Gibson Les Paul Studio and a Warmoth Telecaster with Kinman pickups. Both guitars are very responsive to my playing style and give me what I want in live and studio situations.

Yamaha LL16 (made in china) acoustic. Again, a very responsive and resonant instrument.

Yamaha DG80-112. It's like having a versatile tube amp without the hassles of actually having tubes.

My number one electric is probably a four-way tie between my 2013 SG Standard, my Fender Duo Sonic, my Epiphone Casino, and my old Strat. All have fairly small necks on them - either narrow, thin, or both. Each has its own distinctive sonic character.

My number one acoustic is my '94 Taylor 510, although I spend a fair amount of time with my Taylor 150e 12 string and Taylor GS Mini too. I like the necks on Taylors - I've got pretty short fingers and smaller necks usually suit be better.

My number one pedal? Sorry, I can't pick just one. Gotta have a good delay, but then you don't have any dirt, and that's unacceptable. And of course picking either of those also leaves you without any modulation, or reverb...

My number one amp is probably the '71 Princeton that I blackfaced and restored, or maybe my '83 Princeton Reverb II... although I've been reviewing a Magnatone Panoramic Stereo that has totally captured my heart. I also love my Vox AC15cc1 and Marshall Class 5 for what they do too...

As you can probably tell, when it comes to gear, I have commitment issues. :0:lol:

You would probably like my '68 'pencil neck' ES-335.

I got it about 30 years ago from a classical guitarist who was not an electric guitar enthusiast but occasionally played in bands to supplement his income. He did not like the narrow neck so I traded an Ibanez (MIJ) semi-acoustic for it and we were both happy.

The fingerboard is so narrow that I had to learn to do doublestops because there is not enough room to get all my fingers in there

I have many electric and acoustic guitars to choose from, as well as amp.

Back in the day, the 2 electric guitars I hauled out to bars, were a 62 RI Tele (MIJ), and a American made Strat. Not very costly instruments and they worked.

When I was gigging acoustically, my weapon of choice was a Martin 00016 RGT with a cutaway. I was hauling out a Martin MC 28 and or a J45, or J185, but that was just to much, and they were not cheap guitars. The Martin 0016 was a replacement for a Taylor 414ce that I gigged with for a long while. I ended up with wrist issues and blamed it on the Taylor, so i sold the Taylor.

I have gigged with a Deluxe Reverb, and done some shows with a DR Z Maz 18.

I have a bunch of shows coming up and a PRRI will get the jobs done nicely. I am also using a Gretsch Tn Rose and a new ES 275 for some songs.

Sometimes at home I will just pluck a Taylor GS mini. It's a smaller guitar and a great guitar to pen out songs with.

I'm not a huge pedal guy, so I don't have a gazillon pedal kicking around. What I have for pedal is mostly on my pedal board.

I have a few OD boxes, like and old MRX Distorion Plus, an Fulltone OCD, a RAT, a Boss Compressor, and a old EH Golden Throat.

My pedal board is pretty simple.

Volume pedal for swells, onboard tuner, Barber Compressor, a boost, the trem, cause I like old skool tremelo, the reverb, cause not all of my amps have reverb, delay and then the switch just in case I want to run 2 amp.

I'm not a super big gain guy either, I like old classic crunch, and the Fulltone 2 works well for this, push it has a boost on it.

So over the decades things have changed.

I have also gigged with a Godin 5th Ave King Pin

fetch?id=32053335

The reason I use what I have used to play out with, it's cost effective and not some one of a kind piece from some custom shop.

That does sound like something I'd like! A '68 you say? Got any pics? :snax:

#1 acoustic is easy,Epiphone Masterbilt. It's the only one I have

For electric it's my good old Squier Tele that I always talk about. It's solid and plays good, but mostly I like the sound

Amp is a mid 90's American made Fender Princeton Chorus. No tubes ,no hassles, just good clean sound with decent reverb Plug and play
