Members onelife
The Starcaster was Fender's take on the 335 http://www.12fret.com/2014/04/02/1976-fender-starcaster-sunburst/
Members 1001gear
That's a Gibson knockoff. Wondering why no three SC Fender Jazz guitars.
Members Bucksstudent
I feel like the Strat is unique in the Fender lineup because of the three pickup configuration. It's also the only model with an icepick bridge pickup. Jazzmasters, Jaguars, Mustangs, and Teles all have a two pickup configuration, so they fall under a similar category for me. I played Country licks on my Jazzmaster, Mustang, and Tele and get a similar twang. With a Strat, it's more glassy and quacky. They're all unique in a sense because of their different pickups, scale lengths, and woods. Les Pauls and 335s sound similar because of their humbuckers, scale lengths, and maple. An SG can get similar tones as a Les Paul, but not as deep and rich because of the lack of a maple top. Leo made unique pickups for all of his various models too. The Jazzmaster sound comes from the big pickup design, for instance.
Members Grant Harding
I agree with Onelife - the Starcaster was the first thing that came to mind.
Members DeepEnd
... Casino or ES-330 There is also a Yamaha 335 style guitar with three P90 style pickups.. I also thought of the Epi Riviera P93: You'd need three single coils, a trem, and a 5-way switch to approach a Strat, and I'm not aware of a hollow or semi that has all three. Members 1001gear
I suppose the Casino/Riviera (s) are the only thing going. Aesthetically the Fender headstock on the Starcaster doesn't do it for me. I'd like to see one with three standard singles and standard bridges on a sustain block; even three knobs and a 5 way too. An oversized Tele body might work with the 6 inline head. Whats the name of the Yamaha version?

Members GAS Man
Strat is to... a '72 Telecaster Thinline (with better pickups than their current RI Wide Range pickups - like maybe the new Lollar Regals) To my ears, there's both a softening and a hardening of the tone going from a LP to a 335. Specifically the bridge tone might not have quite the same kind of powerful zing from the bridge of a 335 as from a LP, but there's this "knocking on wood" sound (i.e. woody tone) added that you get from the HP laminate maple top. My reference is my own 1991 ES-335. So my experience with them is limited.
