Members gardo
Intsead of the normal blues scale that everyone seems to know I've been having fun with 1-3-5-6-flat7 and adding the 4It may not be a true pentatonic scale due to the intervals. But I like it
Members knotty
Yeah I like mixing it up too. Changing scales and improvising. Not in a syncopated way but just experimenting with melody. Probably the main reason I play now.
Members gardo
You must have a background in piano . I don't even know what syncpated means but it sounds right.

Members onelife
Try mixing up the Major 3rd and the minor 3rd. Use the Major 3rd over the first chord (E7 in the key of E) then switch to the minor 3rd over the second chord (A7 in the key of E) - note that the G natural (minor 3rd in key of E) is the flat 7th of the A7 chord. Members gardo
. I'm barely literate ( musically) so I'm pretty lost here.
Members DeepEnd
The E Major scale is E F# G# A B C# D# E. The third note is G#, thus it's called the third. In the E minor scale, the third note is G. The full E minor scale is E F♯ G A B C D E.
Members gardo
I know what third means but I won't know how to use it until I pick up a guiter and try it
Members DeepEnd
You said "I'm barely literate ( musically) so I'm pretty lost here." I took you at your word. Apparently you're nowhere near as "barely literate" as you think.
Members gardo
Thanks for taking the time to reply .I'm barely literate = I need a guitar or piano to figure things out
Members DeepEnd
Oh, in that case I'm "barely literate" too. I know some theory but I need to actually play something or hear it played, and I can't play piano so you're actually ahead of me.
