Members stormin1155
On my way home today Won't Get Fooled Again came on the radio, and I it got me thinking what a great ending Pete put on that song. What are some other songs with great endings? Particularly great guitar endings.

Phil O'Keefe
Hey Jude's coda always knocked me out. I also love the way that they just end I Want You / She's So Heavy... John told the engineer to "cut the tape there!" and that's what's on Abbey Road - snip! and it's done. Very unexpected (well, not anymore - I've heard it so many times I know where it's going to happen now) and sudden - it's a rude awakening after the hypnotic repetition of the main coda riff. But I suspect you're more interested in songs with outro solos ala Hotel California...
Members Old Fart Rocker
I always loved the ending to this, right as Frampton comes out of the TB solo all the way to the end. Gives me goosebumps, especially when listening to it with the volume cranked up.
Members onelife
The short guitar cadenza at the very end of "The End" from Abbey Road (after the last vocal bit) works for me. I also like the slight variation of the main riff at the end of "Lay Down Stay Down" from Deep Purple's Burn album.

[video=youtube;oV8PSj-hQvw] 1:48 - 2:00 is absolutely sublime, thanks to the lead guitar.
Members wankdeplank
Abbey Road is most likely my favorite Beatles Album (so many good ones) and you're absolutely right about the power of the abrupt ending on I want you/ She's so heavy. That whole album is like a stream of consciousness/subconsciousness and that ending signifies the fact that the dream will come to an end.

Members Emory
Fade out at end of Hendrix Voodoo Child (slight return) has some of the best licks imho. "No, don't stop! Turn it up, let him play!"

Members Ara Ajizian
No Speak No Slave by The Black Crowes has one of the best endings ever. From the time it starts double-timing at about 3:27 is great, but the last 7 or 8 seconds are just perfect.[video=youtube;amApZCVHcOc]

Phil O'Keefe
Give a Little Bit by Supertramp is a great one. Yeah, that last strummed 12 string D section, concluding with the final D at the 10th fret is really sweet.

Members Juicy Elk Man
The coda to Black Sabbath's 'Under the Sun' - actually named 'Everyday Comes and Goes', but the whole track is usually just titled as 'Under the Sun' ...
Members 6down1togo
I still like the ending to "Photograph" by Def Lappard. Right after Joe Elliott wails "I wanna' touch you" and the bass just explodes and Phil Collens goes into that melancholy outro to the end. I still get goose bumps when I hear that one.
