Members speakerjones
Just picked this up in a trade. It's a '98 CIJ '72 RI Tele Custom. Plays great. Haven't really gotten to hear it at any respectable volume yet. I'll take it down to the studio tomorrow and crank it up. Plays really well. Love the neck. I'll give em a shot, but it's likely the electronics will get an overhaul sooner than later. Overall, I'm quite pleased with my first Tele. Members DeepEnd
As I've mentioned at various times, I'm not a big Telecaster fan but every once in a while I see a sweet looking one like yours. It's a bit unconventional but that's part of what I like about it. Congratulations and Happy New Guitar Day.
Members wankdeplank
Wow, is that sweet SJ. Really love the fact that it has a bucker in the neck ala the original "Master of the Telecaster", Mr Albert Collins. Nothing sounds like a Tele, congrats and enjoy. Members speakerjones
Thanks all! Leaving work early so I can go plug this thing in down at the studio. I've been reading up on the different options for Wide Range Humbuckers. It's interesting that the material that the magnetic pole pieces were made of isn't widely available anymore. There's one guy who winds the real deal, but they cost as much as the guitar is probably worth. I may have Novak wind me up a pair of pickups for this thing. I've had really good luck with him in the past.
Members Pine Apple Slim
I keep thinking I should build a tele. That gives me some inspiration You really should. With your skills you could build one in a day blindfolded. Get some funky old barnwood, a chunk of maple, and whip one up for us!

Now where did I leave my blindfold.....
