Can anyone give me any inforamtion on this guitar. Its definitely from the 80's. Pearl white, neck thru, gold hardware including Kahler tremelo. Tried Dean forum, but it is no longer available. Everything looks original. No USA markings. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

the Dean forum is still alive it just smells funny. That is an odd little ML you have there. It does look like an 80's Made in the USA baby series ml but that serial number on the headstock is not period correct. It looks like a Korean import from the Tropical era type serial with its placement and font.

Ok, Here is the down low on the Baby ML. I am an avid collector of Japanese Guitars. What you have here is a Japan Made Baby ML. The give away is the 41 in the beginning of the serial number. The following 4 digits is Deans USA serial system. So this one falls within Deans Historic 1st 7000(or So) as they say because it was a few more than 7000 before production was stopped for the 1st time. The Kahler is original to the Guitar. They were made by ESP Japan. Then shipped to the Dean factory, where Dean installed the Kahlers in the USA on certain models. These are quite rare and I believe to be just a bit higher quality than the USA ones. Some say Dean himself installed the Kahler,s because he was so anal about perfection. I have added a link to my Baby ML that I regretfully sold. In rare Blueburst.
