Members Into Nation
Totally dry guitar but amazing. In the middle it's like Bonham and Jones got sent aloft on faith alone.

"Totally dry"? Care to elaborate? Wet guitar?
Members soundcreation
"Totally dry"? Care to elaborate? Wet guitar? I'm going to say he means no reverb. At least that's what I think of when I hear that term used to describe a guitar sound like that. Very up front in your face with no trailing sound when it stops. Wet would be the album version. Members phaeton
I'm glad we got that version instead of this one. I love the Yardbirds like you don't know, but Relf's lyrics are kinda 'meh'. Plant really showed him up.
Members Floyd Rosenbomb
I think he was using a Tonebender MKII fuzz in these early days. They are not cheep.
Members phaeton
I think he was using a Tonebender MKII fuzz in these early days. They are not cheep. I've built a couple of Tonebender editions. Even nowadays they're not cheap because finding matched Germanium transistors that aren't noisy as hell is a real PITA. I actually think the Si versions sound better, and I bet if you went back into the 1960s and presented them to the guys who were into fuzz they'd choose the Si versions because they're harsher and "more". But what do I know?
