Members RockPianoman
Brian May always had a great guitar sound.....here's a nice replica (He and his father made his original guitar....the neck came from wood in their fireplace)..... Like a Les Paul it has a mahogany neck and body....it appears to have single coils but they sound more like humbuckers....http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brian-May-El...item4ad49cf1f8 Red Specialhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Special Brian May pickupshttp://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Burns-Br...item2c81594436 Brian Mayhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_May
Members Tall
I have always wanted to try one of the Guild copies. You have to hand it to this guy he rode to the top of the business on a guitar him and his dad made.
Members jtr654
If you want to know if the copies sound like his guitar ? Yes Most of the Tri Sonic loaded guitars with his 6 switch system do but you'll need a Boost also to get those sounds
Members RockPianoman
Those were single coils and not stacked humbuckers right?

Having had both the earlier and later versions, I can say for sure that while they are both solid guitars, the newer ones just don't have the same tonal variation with the non-Tri-Sonics...YMMV
Members jtr654
The pickups are SC but are wired in series to make them act as HB when 2 or more are run in phase.
Members RockPianoman
That's what I wondering because his guitar usually sounds more like humbuckers.....
Members jtr654
Brian uses M&B pickup in phase most of the time and that give him his thicker sound.
