Members billybilly
Nothing used, no pedals with the extra money you saved buying less expensive gear etc... One amp, one guitar, $1000 new total... What would you get? Me? Bugera V22 and an Epiphone Les Paul Custom PRO, coming in at just under $1000. Members Pine Apple Slim
Since I do my own set ups etc, Id prob just order one of these. I could set it up to play nice myself, theres no cheap trem to deal with, and SCs would work good with the Princeton. http://www.rondomusic.com/eg491bk.html But any starter at GC, strat or epi, would do. I could make it work.

Members RockPianoman
This guitar:http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ENLXVSNF3 and this amphttp://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/BluesJr3 I'd have to save up for a Line 6 effects pedalboard later....if I played with a band with this setup, I'd mic the amp into the PA but the amp would be my monitor......I chose a small tube amp because too much amp can blow away typical audiences before it can get loud enough to sound it's best..... A Fender Twin would be my first choice though if money wasn't an option but it would be too loud cranked loud enough to sound it's best at typical venues but it would still work good at normal volumes.....I like the tube Fenders for clean tone.....very bluesy......my favorites are the old ones (pre-CBS)..... Any tube amp that isn't new that I ever buy, I'll buy new tubes for it.....they are the heart of the beast..... I absolutely hate solid-state amps for guitar (using a mic to run into the PA is a little different because you already have your tone from the tube amp).... If money wasn't an option, I'd buy this guitar instead (Ice Tea color) and I'd put locking Grovers on it....eventually all my guitars will have them (locking tuners....Grovers if it was an Epiphone or Gibson.....other brands on other kinds)....this Gibson is $4000....ouch...:http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guita...lectric-guitar

Members Jasaoke
I'd go with the Epi LP and a Line 6 500HDX. Can go with an amp modeler? I've been ampless for several years and won't go back.

Members speakerjones
Well, this little excersize has served to remind me why I pretty much only buy used. But I'd gig this rig with a handful of pedals. G&L ASAT Tribute Deluxe for $400 Jet City JCA2212 for $

Members papaschtroumpf
So many combinations I can't chose! (Also way rich compared to what I would spend, so I feel like a lid in a candy store). At that budget you can fit so many epis, squiers, etc... In the mix. Here is one choice with a real Fender: Blues Jr amp + Daphne blue classic 50s strat:http://www.zzounds.com/item--FEN131002?siid=2259&gclid=Cj0KEQiAlISlBRDHpIekkMGiiskBEiQAh-0KQIgpNwyCHnH_wWfJucXCu_hdBjU0fQD68yuTeJejNTEaAlu08P8HAQ I love my Mustang III so you could spend up to $750 on the guitar and still have a kickasd amp. Spend a little extra on the expression pedal and 4 button switch too . Since I am in a blue guitar mood maybe I'd them spend the money on a Joe Bonamassa Epiphone signature LP in Pelham blue http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/epiphone-limited-edition-2014-joe-bonamassa-les-paul-standard-electric-guitar
