I've never owned a semi-hollow and I've been gassing hard for one, can't afford a Gibson, usual story. . Seriously thinking of grabbing one of these. What's the verdict? Is there anyone rocking one that can give me their overall impression? Do the pickups have to be swapped right away? How's the nut/frets and overall fit and finish? Thanks!

Seriously fine guitar...just my opinion...here is a pic with a few other Epiphones. After I tuned them up and oiled the neck, it's as easy to play as the Gibson, maybe easier...Epiphone is producing some serious guitars, right now...these happen to be ES-335 Pro and Pro II, IBJL Casino, red Casino, Genesis and Gibson ES-335...I can dig it, and did...lol...go for it, can't say anything negative about these things, someone will...olo

I can'tr say anything bad about the newer Epi semi hollows, just that I prefer Ibanez, and their Artcore line over the Epi's.

Oh, I HATE the new reissue of the Genesis!!!! Play the original, and you will turn the new one into toothpicks.

There, I said bad about Epiphone.... I feel much better now.

I use a huge, thick heavy pick, turn up my biggest amps, in stereo, and pound on the thing...ya, that works...olo

What the hell happened in here?

Also, nice guitar. The picture is probably misleading, but it looks like Larry Carlton's 335.

just a nice Electro-Spanish 335 model. Here is another pic of the Iced Tea Pro + II and a Epiphone Masterbilt, which is an unreal thing too

I love these things, Platonically, of course...lol

Epis look great, no doubt, made under the Gibson umbrella, but there have been some horror stories with the Dots about tops separating. Don't know about those awesome looking Epi Pros though. You might run down an old Carlos Robelli. Might be fugly to some but mine sings like the fat lady.

Hey Butt, since you have both, let me ask you. .how do the regular Casinos stack up to the IBJL version? Obviously the pickups are upgraded on the Lennon one, but what about everything else? If I bought a regular Casino and swapped in some nice P-90s and better pots/wiring would I pretty much have the equivalent of the IBJL? A Casino is another one I've really wanted. Thanks!

Dude that thing is just gorgeous. Love that Brazilian Rosewood board, WOW. If it was me, I'd probably ruin it by having some pickups put in it. That's just me. I've got a Harmony H19 (Jag style) with Ric style toasters a Bigsby and a Schaller Roller Bridge. Sounds bitchen, plays bitchen but the electronics better not go bad cause I can't even get inside it now.

The IBJL is in a class of it's own. Here is a pic of a MIK Casino that I fixed (and flipped)...125 bucks with an Epiphone case even...lol...not bad. After it was fixed properly, this thing really sang...should of kept it, but was offered the "right price" by one of my youngest kids friends, an aspiring guitarist, about 22-23 years old (at the time),5 or so years ago... I helped him out, we were both happy... and he still plays it...and I have enough guitars to start 5 bands...if not more...olo so here are some pics of the broken MIK thing. Differences...the color, not much else...I have difficulty discerning subtle "differences" in instruments that are similar...As far as I'm concerned, the MIK "played" just as good, sounded just as good as any of my instruments...If you can get an MIK Casino, well, rock on with it, cool guitars...

if you break your guitar, don't touch the wood shards, oil from fingers reduces glue strength...a bit...try not to break it in the first place olo.

smooth as a baby's a s s and "plays like buttah"...yes indeed...

Are Casinos still made in Korea? I thought they were all made in China now, including the IBJL. That's why I asked, I was under the impression that the IBJL was made in the same factory as the standard version, just with some parts upgraded.
