Moderators Ratae Corieltauvorum Posted October 30, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 30, 2014 Dude is 80! Heard an interview on the BBC yesterday, and he sounds like maybe 30-50, attitude of a 30-50, assembled a band he loves. Here's the dates: http://www.johnmayall.com/tour.html Here's the band: Rocky Athas (Resume as long as your arm) Greg Rzab (Warren Haynes band amongst a few few others) Jay Davenport (Whole bunch of musicians from the Chicago scene) Matter of fact they's all Chicago bluesmen really

Members knotty
It always struck me that his biggest talent was recruiting the right people. He does manage to bring them in though.
Members wankdeplank
^I don't know. I think he's terribly talented in his own right. I saw him perform live about ten years ago at a Bluesfest and he killed. He was the headliner and yet a lot of folks cleared out before his set. As a self professed "Blues Artist", not to be confused with "Blues Rock" and also being billed as the Godfather of British Blues, Mayall has always suffered from a type of reverse discrimination within the genre in my opinion. It's interesting that most of the artists that graduated from the Bluesbreakers went on to make a name for themselves in rock.
