Members rockasm
Hi all! I bought this guitar for a while and it has been my main axe ever since. So basically it's got the body of a Fender Road Worn 60's Strat with 1 original Tex-Mex single coil and 2 Burstbucker pickups from a Les Paul. I made this short clip while on the break at teaching to show how it sounds. Personally I really dig that creamy, thick sound from the Burstbuckers while you can still feel that transparency from the alder Strat body. Let me know what you all think. Enjoy! Members badpenguin
Honestly, it's hard to tell what it sounds like with the processing you have on it. Good chops though.
Members humbuckerstrat
That's sort of what Elliot Randall used when he played on Steely Dan's Reelin' in the Years. Nice
Members Willyguitar
Goddamit, these newbies coming on here, with their lovely guitars, demonstrating that they are more talented than the rest of us...
Members stormin1155
Nice fat sound, but still retains some of that strat vibe. I'm in the midst of building a strat from scratch and will be loading it up with buckers. ...by the way, welcome to the forum!
Members billybilly
I play burstbuckers in my les paul and can definitely hear them in your strat, cool. Which ones are they? Pros?
Members MorganB
Like the Burstbucker Pros, never heard any Burstbuckers in a Strat . Sounds Great!
Members DeepEnd
Hi and Welcome to the Forum. Actually, that style of guitar is fairly common except usually without a mid pickup. Nice playing and it sounds like your experiment turned out very well. I wouldn't mind having a hardtail Strat with two humbuckers myself.
