My new 2014 Gibson Les Paul Custom.

Didn't take too long to get comfortable playing it. It is strung with 10-46 which takes a bit more strength to bend that B string up a whole tone. It's probably 10 lbs but is comfortable for playing while standing a couple hours at a time. Pic from my cheapo Samsung flip phone - can't find my camera's battery charger at the moment.

Yes it is a beautifully crafted guitar. It has that unmistakeable Gibson sound' date=' clean or overdriven. This has been on my wish list for a long time and was well worth the wait.[/quote']

As a new Gibson guy myself I totally understand. HNGD.

Years ago, I bought a White 1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom back in 1988. I put a Dimarzio Evolution in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Screamin' demon on the neck. Like every Metal Head back then, I was playing Super Strats with Floyd Roses ( Jacksons, Kramers ) and the difference, was many. I had to switch string gauges from 46,36,26,17,13,10 to 48,38,28,18,14,11 gauge, because of the string tension, making be feel like I was playing with rubber bands.

Congrats !!!! .... the guitar is beautiful !!!!
