Members billybilly
Sometimes, not often. I like the idea of 24 frets but wouldn't require much at all. In saying that, 21 fret strats seem kinda dumb, why not have the extra fret? I guess it's that vintage vibe but whatever. And speaking of vintage strats... I also hate truss rods that force you to remove the neck to adjust, very dumb.
Members 1001gear
I noodle a lot on a 21 fret Fernandes and 99% of the time I stay well within limits but if the spirit moves you it's not unusual to be in a key where that orgasm lick is a couple frets short. Sometimes you can cover with a bend but there's little else you can do about it.
Members gardo
I find myself needing one more fret on my Tele ever since getting a guitar with 22 frets. So ,no I don't play a strat but yes I like 22 frets

Members AJ6stringsting
I have guitars that have 21, 22, 24 and one that has 27 frets.Guitars, that have different contours / curvatures necks, number of frets, types of pick ups and what ever make me play differently by making me change my approach to the instrument. Members AJ6stringsting
I like those two way truss rods, makes a guitar even better
Members peskypesky
I have 7 Strats. Six of them have 21 frets. The seventh has a Warmoth neck with 22 frets. I definitely like having the 22nd fret. Especially when I'm playing in the key of A, which I do a lot.
Members stormin1155
I seldom venture above the 17th fret. Can't think of a single time I thought to myself, "Damn! Wish I had jut one more fret!" I seriously don't understand why most guitarists think solos should be a soprano part.

Mark Wein
Only on cover gigs where I have to play a song that specifically used that note.
Members Chordite
I would never buy a 24 either because I think it is critical to have the neck pickup under the "24th" harmonic position (though I understand the case against that )Personally I would never use it. Like stormin1155 the 17th is normally about it for me. I like to double track the basic chords an octave up but a 21 is plenty to cover that quirk. Members RGfretter
It's kinda stupid to make 21 fret guitars today as it's so obvious the need for the 22nd fret. If you're makin' them....there for corkers!

Members wankdeplank
Only on cover gigs where I have to play a song that specifically used that note. Thank you. That's what it all boils down to, one frickin note. Sounds like that one note is pretty important for some. I have two of each type and can't say I've ever noticed any deficit on the 21 fret guitars. It's not like the 21 fret variety is any shorter or feels any different under playing conditions. (That 22nd fret on a Fender is just a thin extension over the body.) Members gardo
I often find myself one note short of finishing a run with 21 frets. I think it's all in what you're used to . My new guitar has 21 frets so it's not a deal breaker but I like
