Moderators Ratae Corieltauvorum Posted July 1, 2014 Moderators Share Posted July 1, 2014 Been GAS free for quite a few months now......then just outta the blue yesterday I had a slip, thought I'd better get me in to a meeting, I'll post a pic when I've sobered up some, but it's from the Gibson distillery:eatdrink048:
Members knotty
Yor last gas cost me £1100. You were looking at an SG I think. Anyway you introduced me to Richtone music, I walked in and I was doomed. One LP studio pro and blackstar id core 10 later I walked out 1100 lighter. Members Bucksstudent
I keep looking at the Gibson LP Studio in vintage sunburst, and just thank God I don't have any money. None of the Epiphones seem to have the finishes I want. If I want another guitar, I'll have to save up and wait a long time. So, I just flip through Sweetwater's website like porn. I have GAS like crazy, but nothing to satisfy it.

The Black Pearl Cherry is my favorite finish on that one, but it'd take me over a year to save up. I tried doing that once, but failed miserably. It's not unreasonable for me to wait until I get a real job after I finish all my schooling and interning... I'll be 28. eekphil

Members wankdeplank
I'm trying, need to do some more step work I think, maybe speak to my sponsor No worries then, I didn't realize that you were a "sponsored" artist. My GAS is all about the sleeper gear these days - seeing what I can steal for $200. Craig's List is just pages and pages of overpriced garbage but then you run across that diamond in the ruff that makes the rummaging all worth while. I feel like it's my divine destiny to find these bargains before somebody else.does. The only problem is that I'm a mere hobbyist, and my trophy guitars are just collecting dust while I indulge my itching guitar fetish. Doh, find me a stepping stone and a sponsor. Members jtr654
At this point I'm actually thinking of getting rid of some Guitars Insane yes but 40 is just to many to play. My 77 Rd Artist has been sitting in the case for years as have my 76 Jazz bass and I finally got a 84 Fender Flame so my Squire Esprit is questionable. Be side I've already own or have owned most guitars I've ever desired ( no I don't have a 50's burst or Gold top) but they are out of my range $$$$. That guitar would make me a much better player, successful person and make me happier for all time, now I need it, besides which, shouldn't everybody have a reverse headstock 'Bird? Members Bucksstudent
"Save up"..........huh? Yeah. Put money in a mason jar. A few extra bucks here, a guitar lesson there, money from the Changestar... Then I'll hit $300 or so, and decide I want something more. Last time, I bought my girlfriend a sewing machine for her birthday.

Members guitarcapo
All I can say is that a decent piano costs $20,000 and so do about 30 guitars if you don't go crazy on the boutique stuff.
Members Dr. Scottie C
Oddly enough, I am a shadow of my old former addicted self. Don't get me wrong, I am an addict......once an addict..... BUT I now crave the guitars that are of the cheap. 20 years ago, when I became a serious guitar student....if it didn't say "made in the USA" on it.....I didn't want it near me. 10 years later......I may let some MIJ slip through the cracks...... but that was it. Now.....I'm like the war monger money backer in contact with every sweat shop this side of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Hong Kong, Foshan, Zhuhai, and Macau trying to find a $60 guitar that plays like a 1960 Fender strat......and when I do.....I plan on buying 30 of them. I need to take my meds now.
