Members Radar-Love
Please remove the sidebars. I beg you' date=' please. [/quote'] You can "move them to the top" if you simultaneously press Cntl+ (that's the Control Key and the Plus key at the same time). The main topic window will get wider and wider each time you press the Cntl+ sequence until it consumes the whole width of the screen. The advertisements will "float" to the top of the topic. The Cntl+ sequence zooms up one step each time the key sequence is pressed. If you want to backup, simultaneously press Cntl- (that's the Control Key and the Minus key at the same time). The Cntl- sequence zooms down one step each time the key sequence is pressed. If you simultaneously press Cntl0 (that's the Control Key and the Zero key at the same time), the zoom is set back to 100 percent.
Members wankdeplank
Till they start charging us dues I guess they can do what they want to the place. I was gonna say they don't bother me but then this line 6 thing kept flashing at me sending me into an epileptic fit. OK, I exaggerate, but yeah some of em are annoying. Members Emory
Disrespect? Hardly. hate to tell you this, but HC is a business, and they want to make money like all the rest of us. It's the way the world works.

Members Surrealistic
What's the problem? Pretty much every site has ads these days and at least the ads here are a lot less intrusive than some.
Members Bucksstudent
Ad Block Plus prevents several of them from loading, and they don't follow me when I scroll down the page.
Members gardo
I have no problem with ads as long as they are guitar related.. In fact I have a mild interest in seeing what's out there.
Members Steve2112
Okay sorry! The ads on the side take up nearly 1/3 of the browser area. A couple are bigger than most of the posts. I will try the moving to top trick. That's where they've been until recently- not sure why it moved to side.

Members sammyreynolds01
Looks the same way to me with the exceptions of the flash adds which are blocked by ABP. The others don't bother me. If they bother you then that's fine. You're just going to have to get use to it.
Members Surrealistic
Yep that's about what I see Steve and I don't have a problem with that. I've seen a LOT worse on some other sites. I'm just glad we don't have ads that pop out and need to be closed before you can scroll down.
Members Voltan
definitely things could be worse... but it seems awfully small minded to have an attitude like " it works for me so you can just suck it up and get used to it"... it's not too bad if you have the luxury of sitting around at a desk top or lap top but what about all the people that access this place from their pads, phones, and tablets? there are more than a couple members that use these and you cant post pics, separate lines of text, edit your posts, and so on... , yep, there are other worse places but there are many many more members that have simply said piss on this sorry excuse for a phorum and simply left... this mind set is simply amazing... lol... Members WRGKMC
They don't bother me. I figure its a free site that has to pay for itself somehow. At least the adds aren't intrusive. Some sites have pop ups that have no escape button so you're forced to read their adds.
Members Dendy Jarrett
Guys: We recently launched the side widgets. If you'll note, this is the first time HC has pulled content and community together. Please understand, we put out more reviews and articles than any other source in the MI industry. We write at a minimum of 9 new items a week, and if you add that up, it exceeds what most MI magazines are cranking out. When you are in the Guitar forum for example, what you see on the side is all Guitar related, ads, news, expert reviews, articles, and user reviews. If you go to a general place like Craig Anderton's forum, it will be a mix of everything. Many of you don't get our weekly release (Music Gear Weekly) and a majority of you have your favorite forum bookmarked, thus missing lots of good and useful information that may or may not be useful to you.The ads that were added are indeed to help defray the cost of overhead. They are also aligned with the new content widgets so that they do not interfere or get bogged down in the forum display. And finally, we do not bombard you with "google" ad sense ads about cheap viagra commercials or the like. It is all relative to MI vendors. Please support them by clicking into an ad every now and again. We could throw myriad configurations of page layouts up and some will like them and others will hate them. This currently lay out is an effort to strike a balance so we are respectful of the forums and don't insert ads in the middle of them. Thanks for your understanding and support. Members Bucksstudent
Dendy, I don't represent everyone, but I've never once read a non-user review on this site. Ten years ago, I used to read user reviews all the time and wrote some too, but I've never paid attention to any of the pro reviews. I only come here for the forum now, because we lost user reviews, and I've never managed to look at the "revived" ones.

They are now much easer to locate and as we refine the search tools, they will get even easier. Expert Reviews are reviews by our editors and are "real life" musician/users. The pro reviews were a much more in-depth approach that had forums support (you'll note in the General section of the forums Pro Reviews live below Craig Anderton's forum). And then there is the daily news feed that is prominent on the home page, but now runs genre specific on the right of the forums. Thanks D
Members Dendy Jarrett
Cut Steve2112 some slack. He may be looking at the site on a small monitor or an iPad or iPhone or the like. We are working still on the adaptive technology. The vB site is adaptive, but our content side has not been fully optimized to work "adaptively" with vB's adaptive format.Once complete the site will look the same across all devices that you call Harmony Central up on.Hope that helps clarify things.ThanksD
