    what pickups by seymour duncan was he using before the "screamin' demon". i believe it was a distortion or a jb, but i am not sure.

    It depends.

    If you go through his guitars, he mentions different ones he used, and you can see others in the pics:

      I met George and saw him play over the weekend at Seymour Ducan User Group day. He was a nice down to earth guy and man can he play guitar.

        I think he mostly used a SD Distortion in Dokken.
