    Hmmmm I don't know...rockabilly with lots o' reverb?

    I want to go back and check out the scene in Slingblade where Dwight Yoakum does his drunken, abusive garage-band bit...that had a surf flair as I recall.

            SRV has a few surf tunes too, pretty decent. I can dig me some dick dale too.

              It's just like rockabilly except, nobody in the band is a good enough singer, so they just play instrumental guitar songs like:

              Sleepwalk
              Ghostriders in the Sky
              Caravan
              Miserlou

              I would put Los Straightjackets in this category (They kick ass)

              They also have the option to play fender guitars unlike serious modern rockabilly.

              Moder rockabilly requires a Gretsch, Gibson, Guild, etc.
