How to raise Strat bridge?

My vintage style bridge is almost against the body right now, i want to raise it up some so i can use the whammy bar to raise notes.

 

Do I just loosen the 2 big screws in the back to do this?

 

Also, is there anything else i'll need to do to set it up right??

 

Any pointers would be great. Also how much should i raise the bridge? Plus will this make it go out of tune more?

I would vist the Fender website and read over setting up your guitar. I did it today myself and got my guitar playing sweet.

 

But to answer your question. Yes, loosen the two screws to float your bridge.
