I've heard some things about Schaller Golden 50's but can't find anything out about how they sound or anything. Anyone use them? Also I hear they are difficult to obtain? Fire at will! They're voiced like a late 50s PAF, perhaps a bit lower output and a touch brighter than the current Gibson '57 Classic (which would actually be more accurate to a late 50s Gibson humbucker). I've had some of these in a couple of guitars and actually preferred them over the current Gibby PAFs. They overdrive nicely, but where they really shine is with slightly gainy clean tones.
