Members Rapmaster
Hey, I just bought an original replacement Gibson 3-way switch for my Epiphone Les Paul Standard. It looks to be bit longer and overall looks very different than the original one. Before I open it (I may have to return it), does anybody know off of the top of their head if it's incompatible? I would assume that a problem may arise that Gibsons sometimes use parts measured in U.S. Customary
Members Another Gazzer
It's not a drop in replacement. The Gibson (Switchcraft) switch was a shade too long to fit into my Epi LP Custom (Korea). I used a dremel wheel to remove some of the wood from the top of the cavity. Just use care and not go too far! Switchcraft does make a shorter version of the switch though, but I didn't know about it before modding my guitar. See Allparts.com part no. EP_4066-000 It's worth the trouble though, the original Epi switches are a common source of trouble. Good luck! Gaz
