Conflictng diagrams for DPDT switches

Ok, I am a bit confused here, and maybe it will not matter in the end, but here are two diagrams that have conflicting information. The first one shows this:

 

Still, if you have a humbucker with 4 conductors, you might want to go all the way and wire it for all 3 of the tone options we have discussed. The best way to do this is with a special DPDT on/on/on switch (see Diagram D in the previous section).

As you can see here the top two lugs are wired together. On the Seymour site only one lug is used, the other does not go anywhere. Here is the Seymour site. The wiring is almost exactly the same with the only difference being one lug is wired to another on the first site and the Seymour pic has it not used.

Do you think the one lug difference will matter?

The switches in the diagram at the top of your post are DPDT on-on-on switches.

 

The switches in the Seymore Duncan diagram are DPDT on-on switches, that are mounted on a Push-Pull pot.

 

They are electrically and mechanically different animals.
