Carbon Fiber (Graphite) Electric Guitars

My friend Shawn had a modulus graphite blacknife strat type guitar.

The neck was perfectly even with no dead spots, it was very nice and

very strange too.

It was like touching an alien being because it wasn't cold like aluminum

neck guitars I've tried, but it had a very odd but smooth feeling.

I have never played one, but they are probably a good thing with regard to stability and durability. A graphite neck with stainless steel frets should last longer than my fingers.

I'd like to see more use of non-wood materials in guitar construction - I'm dreaming of the day we can get artificial materials that respond like the very best (and now unavailable) examples of woods like mahogany, rosewood etc.
