Members twotimingpete
whoever's booking the superbowl just wants to see an act literally explode into dust on stage. they figure if they book enough dinosaurs it'll happen eventually. Members johanneswiberg
AC/DC? I don't think they dare. They're probably afraid some guitar forum members are gonna complain about the vocals.
Members 23miles
It depends on whether or not Angus and the lads can still deliver the goods. Super Bowl producers seem to prefer hollow, dried up husks of once great bands. If AC/DC can still rock they wouldn't be a good fit.Did I mention that The Who were horrible? Members benricci
The producers have been widely criticized for exclusively hiring dinosaur acts for the past 5-6 years (McCartney, Tom Petty, The Who, Bruce, Stones) Watch, it'll be John Mayer in an attempt to be "hip with the kids" in 2011... Members nuke_diver
AC/DC would be good...most of their songs are like 2-3 min so they could get a whole album in during half time

Members twotimingpete
Pete, I'm curious to know who you would like to see play the Superbowl. Not for confrontation or argument, honestly. I'm just curious after reading your post. someone who's current/relevant AND kinda cool and good. I'm not all snobby on the guitar stuff. just get someone good and current. those ting tings put on a good show, just as one example that popped into my head. that said, I'll probably flame anyone who plays the SB just because. edit: I actually thought tom petty did a good job on the SB recently. dinosaurs, sure, but they brought it. I don't even dislike the who. I LIKE the who. some bands just don't age well and they haven't. it sucked.

Members jrockbridge
In a recent poll, 22% voted for AC/DC, 14% for Van Halen, 11% for Fleetwood Mac and Pink Floyd only garnered 8% of the votes. Personally, I'd be happy with the Pixies. http://newsroom.mtv.com/2010/02/08/super-bowl-halftime-poll/
