Members DavidMgT
is that those $40 picks? not a jazz III. $20 - and they are well worth it. The cheapest way to improve your tone imo:thu: I have 10 of them - not because I bought them myself, but because my wife was clever enough to get them for me 2 years ago for our 5th wedding anniversary. She got me 2 little Jazzers, 3 Classics, 3 Classic IIs, and 2 of their extra wide picks. They are all really, really good. I have since ordered 2 of their indestructible picks which are a relatively affordable $10 each.

Members cratz2
I use the black 1.0 or 1.14mm Tortex Jazz picks... which are inarguably superior to standard Jazz IIIs. Sorry... you obviously fail at pick selection, guitar playing and life in general.

Members etawful
I'm a huge fan of V-Picks now. The "Dimension" is excellent. Yeah, it's pricey, but it's also 4.1mm thick, has an extremely functional beveled edge and is just easy as hell to play with.

Members dman11
Tried a jazz III,liked the action BUT, was too small could not grip it right. These are better been using 208's for years. Found my fave pick.
Members nuke_diver
I need flexibility in my picks for rythmn...too stiff and it feels wrong to me So I use Fender thins for acoustic but they are too fragile for electric so I use Dunlop nylon 0.88. I tried the tortex but wasn't sold The search continues

Gator 1.5s win. Not sure about a $20 pick. I was curious about v picks, but heard they're completely smooth whcih won't work for me. Plus.... 4.1????? Nope. Members Bro Blue
I use the orange Tortex picks for my Strats with brighter pickups. It evens the highs. With the Ibbys I use 2mm Big Stubby. I use Fender mediums for most everything else.

Members metallica_00
Jazz II bitch. Jazz III would be my second choice though. Made the switch to the little picks a few years ago and never going back on the electric. Still use a full-size pick on acoustic. Never played any of the expensive picks, but different sizes, materials, and thicknesses of picks definitely have an affect on how you play and your sound. EG +1 Have used Jazz IIIs for years and don't imagine I'll ever change. Used to like the reds more, but these days I rarely use them. Black Jazz III all the way!
