Members ashasha
Gary Moore is on a very short list of players that always hit me in the gut when I heard them play. RIP.

Members bluesnapper
I remember hearing this on an old mix tape my dad had years ago. It's probably my favourite slow blues song. The masterfully subtle Albert Collins coupled perfectly with the sheer awesome chops of Gary Moore bringing a whole new level of gain! Gary's solo starts at 3.50ish Two legends no longer with us. RIP. [video=youtube;RzO7bhlgbFw]
Members LaXu
The man was a true icon of hard rock and face melting blues. And one of the reasons I got a LP. Rest in peace!
Members theManfromAlabam
Man this is indeed very sad news, they say he died in a hotel room in Spain..."58" although young, still could be of natural causes. R.I.P. to a fellow Irishman:cry:
Members Takeaway
I bumped into him in Brighton less than a year ago - turned into a 30 year old star-struck wreck! This is just so sad, one of the all time greats

Members _pete_
I just watched a couple old VHS recordings of Gary. One is called Emerald Isles (recorded in Dublin and Belfast) and the other is the 1987 Wild Frontier tour from Stockholm.Goddamn brilliant playing.I really can't believe he's gone. I feel fortunate that I got to see him once though.

Members bluesnapper
He always toured my home town. I never saw him though - there was always something else up - I always told myself I'd catch the next year's tour. Sad news indeed - I wish I'd made it to a show. Members Wicked_Tone
I'm shocked! I feel the same as I did when Dio and Freddie Mercury died. He is one of my top 10 favorite guitarists. Man, I wish I was able to see him live.
Members aliensporebomb
Totally didn't see that one coming. Anecdotally I heard the reason he sold Peter Green's old Les Pauls was due to health problems but I never heard anything more about it and he was still gigging and still putting out recordings. I suppose if you have to pass, passing in your sleep while on vacation is the time to do it. Very sad.
Members Argh! Zombies!
Does anyone know what these health problems were? I recall in maybe '08 or '09 I hadn't seen him in years, and someone posted new live shots, and I got that jolt. Something didn't look right. He wasn't just heavier, which is fair enough, but looked haggard, worn in the face.
Members GAS Man
I just had a sincere "Oh No!" OMG moment. That's definitely one of the most shocking and saddest early departure of a popular musician in some time. That is such a shame. What happened?
