  • Blacktop Telecaster/The Whole Series...

Does anyone have one? Specifically the Tele because I love Teles.

All I've heard of them is from the YouTube demos by shops where they're trying to sell them and are played by guys who can make anything sound good.

What's your opinions of these things?

Learn to be one of those guys who makes anything sound good, and get one.

I tried a Blacktop Jazzmaster the other day for the first time, it was pretty great for the price. The tuners felt really cheap and it needed a setup, but other than that it was a solid guitar.

There's just your standard MIM Fenders with black knobs and humbuckers in them. I don't see what the big deal is with this model. You could buy a prewired pickguard and some knobs and do this yourself.

That is quite a bit of work on the tele though.

Sounds like it is basically a standard MIM Tele with HBs. If only it came in the sunburst finish...

Do standard Teles have a flat fingerboard though?

MIMs have a 9.5 not sure about the Blacktops.

The reviews say they have a flat fingerboard. That would be my main concern considering I've loved basically every Tele I've ever played. Wonder what that'd feel like...

I've only played the Jaguar. The one at the store sounded so muddy that there could have been something wrong with it. Normally, Fender stuff is solid.

Fender site says 9.5. Just MIM necks.
