As spike posted, ioffer is a well-known scam site.

          And yes, it's fake.

Wait is it a scam site as in you receive nothing for your money, or is it a tradetang counterfeit site?

Just out of curiousity (electric guitar noob here) what would be the difference between that fake Gibson, and say a similar Epiphone model?

Hard to say. There have been rumors that some of these fake Gibsons are being made at Epiphone facilities in China. I haven't seen any proof of that, but photos of the wiring cavities of some of these fakes do look very similar to Epiphones. Reviews of these 'Chibsons' run the gamut from "pretty good for $300" to "about what I expected for $300".

The important difference between them is that the Epiphone is a legally licensed copy of the Gibson Les Paul. The other is counterfeit made and sold under fradulent means.

I just remembered a time I went into ap pawn shop and they had a really nice Gibson Les Paul Gold Top behind the counter. I asked the guy to look at it, and the guy handed it me and said "That's a not a real Les Paul. It's a Chinese copy." Pretty straight up info from a pawn shop guy.

Wow, the fakes are getting closer. The only two glaring things I noticed about that (other than the price) are the bridge and the pickguard is beveled on the edges. The headstock is slightly off, but way closer than what it used to be. They even got the truss rod cover down to 2 screws like a real Gibson.

The other problem with selling/buying these is that somewhere down the road, even if YOU know it's fake, you may sell it to someone who then sells it to someone else for $1200 claiming it's real. Best to keep these out of circulation so some 18 yr old kid doesn't get scammed out of $1000+ buying his first "real" guitar.

I DON'T EVEN CARE HOW FAKE THIS IS. I want it.

The Chibsons aren't that bad. And $350 costs less than an Epi anyway.

Seriouslys guys, I'm considering a Chibson.

Read the text of the ad and it's pretty obvious it's a Chinese company like Tradetang. I once saw a fake Gibson LP Standard at the local used guitar shop. The owner of the shop didn't have it on display and he would not sell it in his shop (apparently it's illegal). I don't know were he got it but it was a pretty bad fake. He brought it out to show me since we were talking about the fake Gibsons seen on Tradetang.
